Game Over was a virtual reality video game created by the Toymaker for the Vboxx console system. Those who play it get their minds trapped in the game. The objective of the game is to get to Level 5 and win prizes and riches beyond their wildest dreams. The player, once they start, only have nine lives. Once they're gone, there are no replays or restarts.

History[]

Levels[]

Level 1[]

A computer-generated city area where Juni first landed. Level 1 includes pogo-toads, coins Arnold is seen collecting, a question mark seen behind Juni, and targets that bounce people to the moon. On the dark side of the moon is a Robo-Arena.

Level 2[]

Level 2 is Machine City where the Mega Race takes place. The features of level 2 include a large billboard for the game the racetrack.

Level 3[]

Level 3 features blocky pieces that form into platforms and the staff fight. Two players must fight to the death in order to enter Level 4.

Level 4[]

Level 4 is a path to Lava Mountain where Tinker Toys inhabit. The entrance to level 5 is hidden beneath the lava river.

Level 5[]

The final level of Game Over and the most difficult of all. This level is the only place where the game can be shut down. It is accessed through the gate at the end of the lava river in Level 4. Level 5 is a purple cyberspace and the final "prize" of the game is to be the Toymaker's prisoner.

Mini-Games[]

Robo-Arena[]

SpyKids3 She-Bot

Two contestants are suited up in armor and fight on mechs. They can be simulated through the users' actions. In order to win, one of the players have to win 2 out of 3 rounds. The player may get to keep their armor, though according to Francis, only Juni Cortez is known to have been allowed this.

Mega-Race[]

SpyKids3 Spybotix Concept

The Mega-Race is where contestants ride on super vehicles and win at the finish line. The vehicles they choose start out as small and are then placed into a bigger body. A player can steal another's vehicle during the game.

Duel[]

This takes place on Level 3. Two player have to face off each other with double-sided combat energy staffs. The winner proceeds while the loser gets an immediate game over. A player can be 'tagged' (switch places) during the game with another person.

Characters[]

The Guy[]

The Guy appeared on the front of the game cover with only his silouette showing. He is supposed to be the one who'll lead the players and help them win the game. Juni was thought to be the Guy as his power armor from the Robo-Arena looked exactly like the Guy seen on the poster. The real guy appeared at the entrance of Level 5. He helped Carmen, Juni, and their friends enter to Level 5 by breaking the gate down and entering it. However, the Guy's life was shortlived as he got electrified greatly. All of his 99 lives rapidly went down and disappeared from the game. Afterwards, Rez declared Juni to be the Guy again and ordered him to get them out of the game.

Demetra[]

While she looks like another player, Demetra is actually "the Deceiver", who was created to lead other players astray. However, she has her own emotions and aids Juni and his friends in escaping as she cares about him.

Powerups and NPCs[]

Life Pack[]

The life pack is rare in the game. When a player crushes it in his hand, his life counter will be restored all the way to 9. It was a pink square bound by wire and with a red cross on it.

Mega-Legs[]

This was made specifically for Valentin Avellan. When he touched it, the capsule gave him a power armor and enabled him to walk.

Targets[]

Targets that walk in a field on Level 1. It bounces players to the moon.

Enemies[]

Pogo-Toads[]

Pogo-Toads are around Level 1 and attack players with their tounges. Players could steal the toads' pogo-sticks.

The Programmerz[]

The Programmerz are a duo dressed in black. They sent the player back to Level 1 if they catch him or her using a cheat. The Programmers were actually computer nerds.

Tinker Toys[]

Wooden spool-like creatures which chased the gamers to the lava via the Toymaker.

Lava Monster[]

The lava monster was created by the OSS to prevent Juni, Carmen, and their allies from reaching Level 5, in order to prevent them from releasing the Toymaker. The monster hurled lava balls at them, making them sink. Fortunately, the lava was actually cold.

Destructos[]

Giant mechas that serve as the main enemies of Level 5. After escaping to the real world, the Toymaker sent the Destructos to attack the city before they were defeated by the Cortezes and their allies.

Trivia[]

  • Signs of AMD can be seen throughout the Mega Race.
  • The console that Game Over was released on is called Vboxx, which is a nod to the Xbox.
